Ruth Jackson has a common law practice, principally in the areas of criminal law, family law and employment. Ruth aims to provide a friendly and efficient service to her professional clients and first-class representation, combined with an approachable and sensitive service, to her lay client.

Before coming to the Bar, Ruth had a successful career as a teacher and university lecturer.

Crime

* All forms of criminal work, both prosecution and defence, in the Crown Court, Magistrates Court and Youth Court.
* Crown Court trials, appeals against conviction, appeals against sentence, committals for sentence, PCMHs, mentions and other applications
* A wide variety of trials and other hearings in the Magistrates Courts and Youth Courts
* Experienced in dealing with vulnerable witnesses and defendants with mental heath problems
* Private Prosecutions for District Councils (benefit and tax fraud)
* RSPCA – Cruelty to animals
* Local Education Authorities (Education Act offences)
* Prosecution work on behalf of the Probation Service.

Ruth is a member of the Criminal Bar Association.
